Buying your fist bike can be a daunting experience, especially if you are not mechanically minded. Buying a brand new bike is an option but expensive and until you have been riding a while do you know what sort and size of bike will suit you?
To start with look at bikes around the 600-650cc mark as they have plenty of power but are small and light enough to be handled without too much strain. As you get more experienced you will probably want to change this for a more powerful bike or a different style but the main thing in a first bike is to buy something that you can control at a reasonable price. You would never buy a pure race car as your first vehicle and we recommend you apply that logic to your first bike.
As part of your training we will discuss the types of bike available and some things to look for. We are more than happy to help you buy your first bike if you require. We will accompany you to the vendor, either accompany you on a test ride (some stores will not let you take out a bike on your own if you have just passed your test) or even test ride the bike for you. We will advise you on the suitability of the machine, the mechanical state of it and if it represents good value for money. The final decision is always your but we can help take the guesswork out of buying your first motorcycle. Please contact us if you would like further details of this service.
In the Brackley area we recommend Keep Biking for motorcycles.
