Theory test
The theory test is designed to test your knowledge of the highway code and you ability to read situations on the road and identify developing hazards. The test consists of 2 parts and you need to pass both parts to pass the theory test. You take the test on a special touch screen and you can practice at the test centre before you start the test so no PC knowledge is necessary.

Once you have passed your theory test you will be given a certificate with a pass number that we will need to use when we book your practical test.
Your theory test can be booked online or via the telephone. You can take it at any time before your practical test (or even before your CBT) but we recommend you do it as soon as possible to ensure you have it before you take your practical test and can re-take it should you fail. You cannot take your practical test unless you have passed your theory so don’t leave it to the last minute and run the risk of having to cancel should you fail!
